Synopsis
American Faust: From Condi to Neo-Condi is a hard-hitting documentary about Condoleezza Rice, an extraordinary woman who rose out of segregated Alabama to become the most powerful woman in the world. Incisive and shocking, this is the first retrospective film on the Bush Administration. By identifying Rice as the first senior Bush Administration official to select and order torture, this timely film answers many of the questions that Attorney General Eric Holder has been called upon to prosecute, and raises the prospect of a trial of the highest ranking government officials in US history. The film features a wide-ranging palate of interviewees, including her three top biographers, both Presidents Bush, Henry Kissinger, Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, Oprah Winfrey, Dick Cheney, Brent Scowcroft, and Rice herself. Together, they paint a startling portrait of a woman who has changed our world but about whom most of us know very little.

Reviews
"[American Faust] ... makes a number of damning accusations about [Rice’s] time as National Security Advisor and Secretary of State. Most explosive is the coverage of her role as chair of the group of 'Principals' ...who allegedly signed off on CIA "enhanced interrogation techniques" such as water-boarding for terror suspects”
-- Philip Sherwell, The Daily Telegraph
"[American Faust] illustrates a different side of Condoleezza Rice than the one often portrayed in the media...The profile is quite compelling and intelligent, transitioning between personal one-on-one interviews, video clips, graphic timelines, and photos. It eloquently presents the transformation of Condoleezza from a little girl growing up and dreaming in Birmingham, Alabama to a young woman thriving in her academic endeavors to the political powerhouse breaking barriers and setting new heights. After watching this film, Rice will no doubt become the new “it” woman of choice in college essays. Move over Hilary Clinton and Eleanor Roosevelt."
